The dog refused to cross the threshold, no matter how hard she pulled on the leash. All of her work at the gym was not paying off. She was not happy about it. She tried to pull even harder but the dog would not move. She crouched next to him to check if something was wrong. This did not look like one of his usual tantrums. He also didn't seem to be trying to go anywhere specific, he just wanted to stay in that exact spot. In front of the door. She tried to pet him and he didn't react. She decided to take off his leash, to see if he would go anywhere else or doing anything. But he remained immobile. She didn't know what to do. Biffy usually loved going on his walks. This was very unusual behavior. She decided to close the door and give up for now. Maybe he just needed a moment. She went to the living room and sat down to watch TV. The show was very boring so she soon dozed off to sleep. When she woke up it was already dark outside, which surprised her. She stood up from the couch and went to check on Biffy. He had not moved. Now she was actually worried. She tried to nudge him away from the door, and in that moment Biffy ran towards the bedroom. She thought he might have snapped out of whatever was holding him in place. She followed him to the bedroom and saw him lying in his usual spot next to the bed. She felt relieved at his recovered normal behavior and went to the kitchen to prepare his food. When she had filled his bowl she called for him, but he didn't appear. She went back to the bedroom and he wasn't there. She checked the hallway, and there he was, again, waiting in front of the door, leash in his mouth. She approached him and tried to attach the leash. He didn't reject her. She opened the door, and he immediately walked out. She thought he was finally back to normal. She let out a breath of relief. They went for their walk without eating the dog food in the house. Only later did she realize that nothing had actually been resolved.
